Volgograd State Medical Academy founded in 1935, then called Volgograd Medical Institute is Russia's one of the most prestigious Medical Institutions. It is situated in the central part of Volgograd. The Academy has rich tradition of teaching and research works. A very good number of scholars of this academy are well known within the country as well as abroad. The Scientific Research Institute of Pharmacology, the Scientific Research Institute of Rheumatology, the Regional Centre of Acupuncture are attached to it. The Academy has at its disposal modern educational buildings, clinics and hostels, experimental base supplied with modern equipment.
The Academy has been training specialists for foreign countries since 1962.
Teaching staff: There are over 63 departments with more than 600 highly qualified teaching staff among them.
